First, let me introduce myself. My name is Jennalee Ryan, and I am an adoptive parent. During my process of adopting, I realized how difficult it is for families to locate adoptable children. In many cases, the wait can exceed 5 years.

With a background in marketing, I came upon the idea of advertising for potential birthmothers for the many adoptive families that had come forward after hearing that I had helped locate adoptable children for their friends and family members. My enterprise grew so quickly, that I soon quit my career in sales and marketing to go into the field of adoption advertising fulltime. Families that had been waiting to adopt for many years found healthy newborn infants to adopt through my service in just a matter of months. For many years, I worked directly with adoptive families, however for the last 4 or 5 years, we have limited our advertising efforts solely to adoption attorneys and licensed adoption agencies. |
Since its inception, my advertising concept has been addressed by state legislatures throughout the United States. Although some states have labeled the concept as "adoption facilitating" and embrace it as an option to pregnant women, "Abagails Silver Spoon Adoptions" considers itself solely an advertising service, as we do not facilitate the adoption beyond our advertising efforts to locate potential birthmothers for our clients. Facilitating consists of being paid a fee to introduce a prospective adoptive family to a potential birthmother. We leave this "matching" process to those professionals that are licensed in their state to do this match. We advertise nation-wide, primarily in yellow page directories, but also in newspapers, magazines, and various other mediums.
